Volunteer Opportunities for Sacramental Preparation
“Love for widows and orphans, prisoners, and the sick and needy of every kind, is as essential to the Church as the ministry of the sacraments and preaching of the Gospel.”
Pope Benedict XVI, Christmas, 2005
Most of the time, when we think of volunteering or outreach, we automatically think of a service project. However, what follows are opportunities which may or may not involve direct service. Some of these opportunities are "border crossings," opportunities to experience cultures other than our own. Some of these opportunities involve activities which engage an entire family both in doing something, but also discussing the experience. Some of these opportunities are guided reflections. And some of these opportunities are direct service opportunities.
It is suggested that adults read this piece about the Biblical Foundations of Justice before any project you undertake.
