I am pleased that you are planning to have your child baptized at The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light It is a special day for our parish community and your family. It is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate anew the meaning of Church and the 'outward sign' we call Sacrament.

I welcome you and your family again in the baptism of this newest member of our community. Hopefully, our baptismal preparation program will help you recognize and understand the important responsibilities you face as Catholic parents. At The Catholic Community of Christ Our Light, we hope that parents presenting a child for baptism do so with a serious commitment to raising their child within the faith-filled experiences of the Church.

Your own participation at Sunday Eucharist and the importance of modeling that faith will become that much more vital as your child grows older and is ready to receive other sacraments.

Parents are asked to attend one preparation session before the baptism of their child. Godparents are also invited to this preparation session. Please bring your godparents' Sponsorship Certificates to the class. If you are not married, bring the child's Birth Certificate to the session.

Baptisms can be scheduled in church on most Sundays at 12:30 p.m. or during the Saturday evening 4:30 PM Mass or the 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM Sunday Masses. Please call the Parish Center for available dates and a schedule of Baptismal Preparation classes. The suggested offering to the church is $50 and should be given to the deacon or priest who performs the celebration.
