Altar Linen Ministry
The Altar Linen Ministry is responsible for the care of all the linens used for liturgy. Members are scheduled on a rotating basis to clean, press, and fold purificators and corporals from daily and weekend masses. Please contact Mike Bedics if you are interested in helping with this ministry.
Altar Servers
Children and youth in 4th grade and above are welcome to serve as altar servers. This ministry provides children and youth the opportunity to assist in the celebration of the liturgy as cross and book bearers and table servers. Because of the intimate involvement with the liturgy, the ministry of altar server leads children to a greater appreciation of the mass, and a deeper awareness of the importance of Christian service.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion for Liturgy
serve the community by assisting in the distribution of communion at all parish liturgies. Ministers distribute both the Precious Body and Precious Blood, as communion is offered under both forms at all masses. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained through the diocesan Office of Worship School of Liturgy programs. Once that training is complete, individuals are prepared to serve at Christ Our Light by parish staff or experienced EM’s. Schedules are created based on individual availability and needs of the parish.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Outreach
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve the community by assisting in the distribution of communion to the homebound and sick of the parish. Arranged into Teams so that each minister visits the homebound about once a month, ministers visit the elderly and ill who can not get to church. Visits occur on Sundays as well as midweek. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained through the diocesan Office for Worship School of Liturgy programs. Once that training is complete, individuals are prepared to serve at Christ Our Light by parish staff or experienced EM’s. Schedules are created based on individual availability and needs of the parish.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God during liturgy, on all weekend Masses (Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Sunday evening) and Holy Days. Preparation includes praying with the readings before Sunday, and individual practice of the readings. Lectors are trained in the parish and given the opportunity to practice at the ambo with the microphone. Schedules are created based on individual availability and needs of the parish.
Liturgical Ministry Coordinators
Each liturgical ministry will have a coordinator serving as the contact person for the ministry. The coordinator distributes and communicates information including schedules, the calendar, updates, etc. to members of his/her ministry in coordination with the Pastoral Associate for Worship and Music. The coordinators meet regularly with the Pastoral Associate, Assistant for Worship and Music and other liturgical coordinators for planning, evaluation, and development of the liturgical ministries working in support of one another. This includes assisting with ongoing formation of all ministers involved in his/her ministry.
